Pic: Orcas aren’t whales
War: Agree. But actually dolphins are the subset of whales. There are two groups of whales: Toothed whales and Baleen whales. Baleen whales are ones that have baleen plates and eat planktons. They are obviously distinguishable. (+)
On the other hand, dolphins belong to toothed whales family. It is confusing because some toothed whales look exactly like dolphins but they are still called ‘whales‘. In sum, should all dolphins be called whales then, according to the theory? (+)
Or is there any way to notice them? This topic has been in my head for years. Any sea creatures expert, please tell me, or any friend on facebook who is a whale, please explain me. 😂
Yin: (sing) I guess it‘s like a dolphin that is not a fish
War: This is a whale too 😭
Yin: A fish
War: This too -..-
Yin: A fish
War: This is also a whale
Yin: A fish
Tay‘s reply to a fan who shares War‘s post.

Tay: Does he mean melon-headed whales? My own understanding is that dolphins are in the whales‘ family, which can be distinguished from their dorsal fin and conical teeth. But the way to call them depends on individual‘s preference.+
Orcas are under dolphins‘ family but are called ‘whale’. I let the experts give the further explanation on this.
War: Yes krab, the melon-headed whales and some other whales. I find it frustrating how all dolphins are whales, but some whales look so close to dolphins and are still called ‘whales’. If they want to distinguish them from their head shape, they are the same. (+)
And they have dorsal fin too. And regarding the size, some dolphins are even larger than what they call ‘whales’. What do they want from me? 🤣🤣🤣
