I got a notification from Twitter today:

"It's your Twitter anniversary! Celebrate with a special Tweet created just for you".

It also suggested this content for that special tweet:

"Do you remember when you joined Twitter? I do! #MyTwitterAnniversary "

Well, the question is, do I *celebrate* the *anniversaries* for...

For the things I note on paper-napkins in restaurants (which I actually do, in real life)? For the notes in the margins (and front & back flaps) of books I read? For write-ups in my hand-written notebooks?

For the numerous notings in the .TXT files I make on the spur of the moment (like the URLs to papers to read, songs to download, etc)? For the e-journals I maintain, to note my thoughts on research? [Yes, *some* times, I do maintain such, personal, e-journals/e-diaries too.]

Answer to all above questions:

No! I don't *celebrate* any of my notes making (or even my sharing of notes with others). Neither do I think that I should *celebrate* *such* things.

Conclusion: So, there is nothing to celebrate anniversary of my joining Twitter.

Sorry, Twitter, but you are not so special (let alone so important) that I should celebrate any anniversaries of my joining you. ... Don't be so self-assuming to even begin thinking along lines like that.

And, speaking of anniversaries and all...

It's only now that I remember: 02 September 1990 was the first time I landed, in the land of USA. ...The USA! ...The United States of America!

Should I celebrate it? reflect upon it? mourn it?

Is there anything worth celebrating, etc., to it?

No, No, & No.

So, there.
Addendum: To #Twitter company (only):

While we are at it:

Instead of sending such reminders, try to get better in letting me take backups of all my tweets.

Last *4* (*four*) times I tried, it didn't work. I sent you a feedback. You did *not* act on it.

Marketing idiots!
PS 1/n:
I tweeted this thread, and late in the following night (which was a day time in the USA), I began having the first among the problems to which philosophy reportedly has no answer, viz., toothache.

It was sharp enough to keep me awake for all of the rest of the night.
PS 2/n:

Next *day*, it was quite OK---no pain-killers required. But the next *night*, the ache again came back, and became even worse.

As an immediate pallative measure, let me at least now confess to my what is my innermost, real-most, most true, etc., conviction...
PS 3/3:

And the inner-most, real-most, most true, etc. conviction is [drum rolls, please!]

*All* marketing people regardless of their desserts uniformly possess a genius of the very highest order.
