7 PRACTICAL STEPS FOR A HEALTHY CHRISTIAN GROWTH!

Growth is possible for anyone but it can be hindered. As a Christian, God expects you to grow and it's compulsory you do!

Apart from every other reason why you should, it's for your own spiritual good.

Many Christians will...
...love to grow but sadly, many may not know how to do that.

This is a thread of 7 practical steps to achieving that healthy Christian growth as a Babe, Mature Son, leader or follower in Christ.

These steps, though simple, are very practical and easy to grasp and implement.
DESIRE, READ AND STUDY THE WORD

You must of necessity create a genuine appetite for the word of God. Don’t expect it to come by itself, you have to desire it intentionally because it might not be spontaneous.

1 Peter 2:2 says, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the
...word, that ye may grow thereby”.

You must desire to study the word and actually study it. Just like physical food, you must desire to eat the food and then proceed to eating it. That’s how to be satisfied.
ASSOCIATE WITH PEOPLE WHO LOVE THE LORD

2 Timothy 2:22 says, "...stay close to anything that makes you want to do right. Have faith and love, and enjoy the companionship of those who love the Lord and have pure hearts"

You will become worldly when you associate with worldly...
...people. Don't by yourself visit the websites, places and events that'll make you carnally minded. Intentionally avoid them.

BE CONSTANTLY FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT

Romans 12:11 says, "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord"

There’s a glow..
...about your life and God doesn’t want you to quench it. Ephesians 5:18-21 shows you how to be filled with the Spirit consistently and regularly. Learn to sing in the Spirit by singing in tongues.
TELL SOMEONE ABOUT JESUS

Soul winning is your life’s work as a Christian. That’s the number one assignment Jesus gave you. If you’re growing spiritually it’ll be evident in your soul winning. Jesus’ last words to His disciples was a charge to win souls.

Read Proverbs 11:30!
CULTIVATE A DISCIPLINED PRAYER LIFE

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, "Pray without ceasing"

You must cultivate a disciplined prayer life through diligence. When you walk with people that love to pray, you’ll catch that attitude of prayer so be smart. Learn to set a time for prayers.
SET YOUR MIND ON SPIRITUAL THINGS

If you don’t set your mind on spiritual things, it’ll stray to other things because many things are craving for your attention. Imagine this #socialmedia era where posts, tweets, videos, memes, are all craving for your attention. Give God time!
BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF A LOCAL CHURCH

You’re not likely to grow spiritually if you’re not active in a local church. Even in this period where more fellowship activities hold digitally, strive to stay connected and be relevant. It’s compulsory.

Read Hebrews 10:25
Dear brethren, if a baby is left without feeding, exercise, family association, etc, he may have stunted growth or even die.

Your growth is solely dependent on you and not your Pastor, Church or God. It's your job!
