Preservatives in skincare & why they are important

Preservatives play a very important role in products containing water: they kill microorganisms and water-borne bacteria & prevent the growth of bacteria, mold and yeast. Any product that is water based needs a preservative.
If a product contains water (including hydrosols, floral water aka rose water and aloe vera juice, all of which contain water), a preservative is essential to help prevent microbes growing.
Microbes are invisible to the naked eye and start developing as early as 3 days after a product is made. Imagine what this does to your skin? You are essentially introducing bacteria to your skin via the face wash or cream that doesn't have a preservative.
If you make skincare products, introduce a broad spectrum preservatives such as Naticide, Geogard or mikrokil ECT to your products. If you cannot afford these, at the very least, add citric acid to your skincare products.
Shelf life is still under a month but citric acid is better than nothing at all.

Do your homework as well. Check the ingredients and shelf life. You're putting the products on YOUR FACE. How can you be using an expired product on your face for 2 months?
An esthetician can only treat outward skin problems... But when bacteria is involved, that will be beyond my office. I will refer you to a dermatologist. Speaking of dermatologists...Shout out to @nfsinyinza . That's the person you should see for skin diseases.
