Cis people are attracted to gender not sex. You ask any person on the street to describe their "type" and they'll describe gender presentation and personality traits. If attraction wasn't gender based there would be no concept of sexy clothes, catfishing, thot pics, and so on.

Even where people say they are attracted to physical features, they pick features that related to gendered presentation - boobs, butt, abs, beautiful eyes, nice hair, height. They don't want to lick your gametes or check that you are menstruating.

I'd go as far as to say that a large part of why people engage in gendered presentation at all is to appear attractive to others.
