The Spotify duo playlist is wild. Without it I would've never experienced what it feels like to first listen nicely some neat beats of Meganeko and FantomenK, after which the tone changes completely with Satyricon and Dark Tranquility, and then finally moving to Genesis.
I mean don't get me wrong: nothing wrong with some metal in the mix. It's just that the contrast is pretty wild.

Some might say me and my partner listen to completely different music. They'd probably be correct.
Speaking of that, it's actually pretty interesting since we've talked about music and what we listen to when we need to focus. She can't stand the music I listen to when she needs to concentrate, and I don't usually like to listen to what she does when I need to do so.
Her taste is more metal, mine is more electronic. I also like relatively simple repeating patterns in music when I need to focus, so stuff like Fuguefat by The Octopus Project or Charlatan by Compilerbau is perfect for me. She's more of the "more aggressive, the better" -variety.
Then again, she is a former (well not entirely former) goth, so I guess it's understandable. I was always into metal music more for the technical aspect of it. Which is also why I used to be a huge Dream Theater fan back in the day, and why I still love me some prog rock/metal.
And that concludes this train of thought.

It has now left me wondering how our wedding playlist is gonna be like. It's probably gonna confuse a huge portion of the guests.
One last tweet to this thread though.

I listen to the duo mix playlist so I can try to learn how to enjoy her music as well.

I think it's only fair that I try to enjoy it, since I've subjected her so much to my unironic love for David Hasselhoff's music.
