Whole Foods made me take off my BLM mask. They said that they support and stand with the black community & that they don’t stand for racism, but fear the idea of some of their customers being uncomfortable to read a T-shirt a mask, or even less a tiny pin that says BLM?!?!
The discomfort a person may feel from reading my pin or mask at the checkout line for 2 minutes of their lives cannot possibly compare to the discomfort, torture, pain, suffering BIPOC feel most of, if not, their entire lives!!!!
Here is the letter I sent to Whole Foods Regional Presidents, had to wait 2 months for a response. Never got one by email. Then the mid Atlantic President Scott Allshouse came to see me in person only to tell me that there’s nothing Whole Foods will do about it.
YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE? Isn’t that beautiful? Look at how Whole Foods openly/actively supports Gay Pride, they made T-shirts For employees, pins and decorated a big Whole Foods Truck! They even handed out free samples. But we can’t wear a BLM mask to work?? Something ain’t right.
These are BOTH human rights issues!!! Whole Foods Panel of Presidents (predominantly white btw) denied making a small pin that would state “we do not tolerate racism here”. Whole Foods does not support their black employees & is threatened by the BLM movement.
