20) To vote by mail, apply to have an absentee ballot mailed to you. You do not need to be registered to apply.

For your ballot to count, remember this important information:

1Read the instructions that come with your ballot carefully.
2Your signature envelope might have a
21) box for a witness to complete and sign. Due to COVID19, there is no witness requirement for registered voters for the November 3, 2020 State General Election. Non-registered voters will still need a witness, to indicate their proof of residence.

3Mail the ballot and forms
22) back right away after you finish. Your returned ballot must be postmarked on or before Election Day (November 3, 2020) & received by your county within the next seven calendar days (November 10). You may also drop off your ballot envelope in person

27) ADDENDUM #1

Also keep in mind that other than Michigan, you have to have a valid driver’s license or state issued id to get an absentee/mail in ballot:

Minnesota’s application:

https://sos.state.mn.us/media/2444/english-regular-absentee-ballot-application.pdf
29) Pennsylvania’s application:

https://www.votespa.com/Register-to-Vote/Documents/PADOS_MailInApplication.pdf

Michigan is the only state out of the four that mailed applications to everyone. The other 3 states require the voter to request.
30) ADDENDUM #2

After doing a little more digging about Michigan, I stand corrected. You have to have a state issued driver’s license, state issued id etc. to vote in person or by mail
