Random pet peeve: when people are doing a thing that requires a significant amount of skill/dedication and when speaking about it, pass it/themselves off like it’s a quotidian task/they aren’t deserving of the merit that comes with having done xyz thing.

& I get that this might be rooted (heavily) in imposter syndrome/anxiety/the desire to not sound braggadocious and/or innocent humility. But I think there’s a fine line between humility and self-depreciation.

This is probably worded poorly but I know what I mean. I do this, and I’m mostly writing this thread for myself and for accountability sake. Anyway, if you made it this far through my ramblings, own your successes, nobody could style you.
