Much wow right now, maybe too much nom nom...

...or maybe that& #39;s a senile OG talking after getting mercury poisoning just looking at the @SushiSwap buffet.

Some thoughts on #DeFi& #39;s ongoing food frenzy https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🧵" title="Thread" aria-label="Emoji: Thread">
For those getting queasy or blistered fingertips, you don& #39;t have to farm every food you see, or even farm at all https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">

There are many ways to contribute to the #Ethereum, #Bitcoin https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt="">, #crypto & #DeFi cause(s). https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1300404594711822337?s=20">https://twitter.com/VitalikBu...
Placeholder, for example, has worked with a number of #DeFi teams over the last few years and have strongly advocated for users, suppliers, and governors *earning* yields.

But we don& #39;t farm.
The way we see it, farming is for farmers. As a firm focusing on creating new land for society, we don& #39;t want to steal nutrients from the soils that allow for the best crops to grow.

Few understand.
And we couldn& #39;t be happier, focusing on parts of the #DeFi and #crypto stack that are more suited to our contributions.

Do we forego some returns? In the short-term, yes. But our investments and intents are always long-term.
The choice of how and where you operate is entirely yours, don& #39;t let the market hijack your being.
Long-term, really hoping we can flip the #DeFi farming frenzy from requiring capital to earn, to requiring time & labor to earn.
Time is the most precious resource we all have equal access to; allowing people to mine with their time would be divine.
Something @BradUSV taught me from his experience over decades of working with online networks is that the greatest predictor of how an anonymous/pseudonymous entity will behave is *time spent on a network*
I think @BatmanDeFi& #39;s #PatienceFarming is a good meme to champion the #TimeMining cause, but I& #39;m maybe too old-school to advise the memery of the new-school https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🤷‍♂️" title="Achselzuckender Mann" aria-label="Emoji: Achselzuckender Mann">
If you& #39;re upset about capital enriching itself (which *is* a problem), and also a builder, then put speed bumps in the form of time-locks on capital trying to earn assets.

Lots of examples of farmlands successfully doing this, @synthetix_io even did it through a bear.
Such speed bumps will slow down the fast-money, but not deter the slow-money.

If you want to build something over the long-term, you want the slow-money.

Slow-money will be a support when times get rough.

Fast-money will leave just as quickly as it comes.
I& #39;ll meme-fy it and reinforce it https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙂" title="Leicht lächelndes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Leicht lächelndes Gesicht">

If building for digital land, remember that roots grow deep with time and labor.

Quick growing crops have shallow roots that don& #39;t #hodl when winter rains fall.
Also would love to see more of these flips from #DeFi degeneracy into social goods: https://twitter.com/QWQiao/status/1300840549897900034?s=20">https://twitter.com/QWQiao/st...
There is SO much work to be done in crypto it& #39;s overwhelming. Sow your time, capital, and labor in the ways that best suit you.

And try not to get mercury poisoning.
