RANKING THE WEEKND’s DISCOGRAPHY
a thread:
8. Kissland (2013)
Fav Tracks: Professional, Adaption, Tears In The Rain, Odd Look
Least Fav Track: Love In The Sky

I feel very weird about this album. After Trilogy, I find this album underwhelming and i find that Weeknd is in a weird place. I like some tracks on here
(1/2)
but I never go back on it and most of the album I just do not like.

Rating: 6/10
(2/2)
7. Starboy(2016)

Fav Tracks: Starboy, Party Monster, Reminder, Rockin, True Colors, Stargirl Interlude, Ordinary Life, I Feel It Coming
Least Fav Track: False Alarm

The Weeknd picks up a new spacey sound and instead of crying for women he becomes a “Starboy” or fuckboi.
(1/2)
It pains me to put this album here because this was at one point my fav Weeknd project. I would put this higher but this project has a couple of skips which the next albums above it dont. I love this album tho.

Rating: 8/10
(2/2)
6. My Dear Melancholy (2018)

Fav Tracks: Try Me, Wasted Times, I Was Never There, Hurt You, Privilege
Least Fav Track: Call Out My Name

This EP is amazing from start to finish. It really delivered imo even though it was short but it showed Weeknd in his element.
(1/2)
It came perfect timing. It has memorable tracks and its pretty underrated. It mixes Starboy with old Trilogy Weeknd and it sounds amazing.

Rating: 9/10
5. Echoes Of Silence (2011)

Fav Tracks: Montreal, Outside, XO/ The Host, Same Old Song, The Fall, Next
Least Fav Track: Till Dawn

The weakest of the Trilogy mixtapes is still amazing. Echoes Of Silence brings more intimate sounds perfectly unlike Kissland. It starts off
(1/2)
with The Weeknd honoring Micheal Jackson with D.D. and continues to have amazing songs but I feel like it gets a little repetitive. Its stilll great tho.

Rating: 9/10
4. Beauty Behind The Madness (2015)

Fav Tracks: Losers, Tell Your Friends, The Hills, Acquainted, Earned It, As You Are, Prisoner
Least Fav Track: Angel

My favorite Weeknd album is great but has some flaws. This album has a collection of songs that are commercial
(1/2)
like Cant Feel My Face, The Hills, Earned It and even Tell Your Friends. It also has classic Trilogy Weeknd in Acquainted, Earned It, As You Are and Prisoner. The only problem is that it has a weak outro and a weak intro. I still love it a lot.

Rating: 9/10
(2/2)
3. After Hours (2020)

Fav Tracks: Alone Again, Hardest To Love, Scared To Live, Escape from LA, Heartless, Faith, Blinding Lights, In Your Eyes, After Hours
Least Fav: Until I Bleed Out

The long-awaited After Hours combines every The Weeknd album into one. It has some
(1/3)
lyrics and production that reminds me of mixtape-Kissland Weeknd, some of the “comercial” Weeknd that reminds me of BBTM Weeknd and production that reminds me of Starboy Weeknd. This all makes this album so amazing. The 4-year (or 2 year if you count MDM)
(2/3)
wait was worth it. It contains a lot of amazing tracks. The 2 remaining mixtapes are better tho

Rating: 9.5/10
2. Thursday (2011)

Fav Tracks: Life Of The Party, Thursday, The Zone, The Birds(both parts), Gone, Heaven Or Las Vegas, Valerie
Least Fav Track: Lonely Star

Explained with HOB

Rating: 10/10
1. House Of Baloons

Fav Tracks: What You Need, HOB/GTG, Wicked Games, The Party & After Party, Coming Down, Loft Music, The Knowing, Twenty Eight
Least Fav Track: High For This

This was hard. Both mixtapes have amazing and classic tracklists but this one falls short.
(1/4)
Both have some personal favs from me and just like the other mixtapes it sounds numb as he talks about drugs and sex constsntly. In Thursday, the intro is the weakest part of this project, but its followed up by 9 classics. House of Baloons is flawless imo. I feel like both
(2/4)
mixtapes are structured equally. A slow and sung intro: Lonely Star and High For This, a song where he sounds numb: What You Need, Life Of The Party, songs with switch ups: HOB/GTG, TP&AP and The Birds, extremely sexual songs: Wicked Games, and The Zone, obviously songs
(3/4)
where he sounds in pain: Thursday, What You Need and Valerie, and mostly all songs are about girls. Overall, I feel like HOB is better tho even tho they are both 10s.

Thursday and HOB Rating: 10/10
(4/4)
Order:
1. HOB (10/10)
2. Thursday (10/10)
3. After Hours (9.5/10)
4. BBTM (9/10)
5. EOS (9/10)
6. MDM (9/10)
7. Starboy (8/10)
8. Kissland (6/10)
