recently been noticing an odd non-issue hm

my concrete level of intelligence has mechanically gone up and down a lot over the last decade, and some of my ideas have been good, some have been bad, and then *independently* from that quality level, they've been expressed well & not
but in recent weeks I've been picking up on times when, some of the shit I've either thought or expressed got blasted by smart ppl on youtube/twitter

not /me/, but the idea, and not my instances of those ideas either, just, another copy of the same ideas got criticized
and then when I see what those smart people suggest doing instead, I'm shocked that what they suggest is only marginally different from the original idea they were criticizing
so now I look back at shit I've thought this past decade, and I'm thinking, a LOT of it was a lot less stupid than I thought it was huh
especially since the marginal difference those people make a big fuss over, were actually things I had in the back of my mind when *expressing* the "inferior" version of those same thoughts
TLDR: the difference between good solutions and bad solutions is VERY SUBTLE sometimes, and some people will correctly point out the "tiny" difference makes all the difference, while also being super loud about calling everyone fucking idiots for missing the tiny difference
I'm starting to feel like some people just want an excuse to talk shit and appear like reasonable people for doing so, while essentially pouring salt everywhere
and for some reason that dissonance is making my head spin 'xD
dunno, might just be an impression, but atm my brain works better than it used to so it might also be legit hm
I don't even have a proper example, it's just the whole setup that has popped up in my head a bunch of times recently
like, people making a big deal out of people being wrong, about a thing I can literally come up with myself in a total of 5 minutes better than what they can do

which throws me off because since it's actually that simple, why are they making such a big deal out of it
maybe that's the entire problem and they're getting frustrated that most people don't take the 5 fucking minutes to think about what they're doing or saying but like...

*I* get weirded out they can't figure out easy improvements to their own solutions in 5mins at the same time
it's like...

you're dumb, why are *you* yelling at other people for being dumb

chill, it's fine

everyone's dumb

though if I had to guess they're the type to get mad at themselves too, so in their mind

"no it's not fine that everyone is dumb aaaaaaa"
but also, *my* reaction is... "ok but what are we going to do about it? nothing, so what's the point of stressing out so hard about it? how is that valuable? "

I think
or more importantly "anything we do about generalized ignorance will not be requiring any amount of stress as part of the solution"
I dunno, my brain's processing some /old/ shit atm ?w?
this thread prompted by a passage by Rebecca Watson (go watch her stuff, it's really good) who explains that "zomg the difference between apologizing, expressing remorse and letting time pass, and actually improving is immense"

which...? is it really?
the "huge" difference here being "on top of apologies, remorse and time, you need: strategies to prevent shit from happening again", which, hell yes, but also it's like I said, it's such a simple thing to figure out, I'm confused why it's a whole N minutes of video
and by hell yes, I mean that where I'm from, we don't /say/ we're sorry, we fucking prove it, and that has actually landed me into trouble with people who expect the actual words *over* the actions ?w?
this rebecca watson passage itself isn't even the most representative example of this kind of ... me being legitimately confused at people being fired up over simple things

I'm more concerned that it rang a whole bell in my head when she did that, like... "wait i've been here"
