Oh, we're doing IndyCar ratings again? IndyCar ratings are bad because they haven't brought new fans into the series for literally 30 years. Can we move on now?
Asking IndyCar to market itself better is like asking a giraffe to eat lettuce. Sure, lettuce would probably be something a giraffe enjoys, but it's gone more or less its entire life eating from the top of trees and hasn't died yet! Is better something the giraffe even wants?
An IndyCar interested in growth does not sign a television deal with NBC. An IndyCar interested in growth does not leave the terrible NBC production team and on-air talent untouched for years. IndyCar is interested in survival, not growth. It's short sighted and bad, but true!
