Hello everyone,
Yesterday I asked if anyone had any insight into what was going on in Muskogee county with the huge increase. Twitter user @Ben_3420 pointed me to @pmonies who had a bit of an interpretation--that the cases had come out of corrections.

2/ A second user asked if anyone had looked at cases in a correctional facility in Hominy. I& #39;d had a plan to work on some of the data that might be coming out of the correctional facilities, but I have some concerns about the data which I& #39;ll share with you.
3/ FYI--This data came from @rogman99 who downloads the zip code data each day and does a fantastic job keeping it organize. Many THANK YOUs to him for his generosity in sharing the data.
4/ Below I& #39;ve posted a chart that shows the change in cases per day for the zip code in which each of the states maximum, medium, and minimum secure facilities are located. Community based programs are not included, nor are federal facilities (they will be in the next).
5/ You’ll see that some of the facilities are grouped together when they shared a zip code. For example, Harp Center shares a zip code with Lexington Intake and Assessment. I got my career started in corrections, so if you’d like a dissertation on this, I’m happy to provide it.
6/ As you can see, there have been “outbreaks” in zip codes where six of these 15 (40%) facilities are located. Per 1000 rates ranged from 0 (73841, Key Center, Ft. Supply) to 297 (74463, Warrior/Dunn, Taft).
7/ We should be very concerned about the spread of covid in our prison system. Prisons are staffed by community members, teachers, social workers, clinicians, and other service providers who are committed to the rehabilitation of men and women who are incarcerated.
8/ Many of our state leaders do believe incarcerated people do not deserve care and should be left to die. Covid does not see incarceration and when we fail to care for those who are imprisoned, we fail to care for noble members of our communities who touch untouchables.
9/ The reports shows 700-800 cases without zip codes (without counties range from 5-20/day). I suspect the state will redistribute cases to home counties of residents rather than keeping them assigned to local counties, so I’ll be keeping me eyes open for changes in these zips.
10/ IF YOU ARE A PERSON WHO LIVES IN ONE OF THESE AREAS, PLEASE CHIME IN AND TELL US A BIT ABOUT THE GEOGRAPHIC AREA.
Are most of the people in the zip code also employed at the facility, you know, things like that.

11/ Hello every, OK Dept of Corr has cancelled visitation at a number of facilities due to covid cases. They are offering two free 10 minute phone calls per week (they should offer = minutes at = frequency). https://twitter.com/OklaDOC/status/1299171482480697344?s=20">https://twitter.com/OklaDOC/s...
