To all the people interested, we started organising an in person
conference more than one year ago, this made necessary hire external
people and pay them. 1/9

After the COVID-19 we had to cancel everything and
buy the software to allow an online conference. We then made the budget in such a way to recover the expenses done, having no idea of how many attendees will participate in this unprecedented situation. 2/9

We worked like crazy to help students participate anyhow and convinced sponsors to help them. We found private sponsors and public ones, but only at a later stage and well after the announcements of the conference. 3/9

We extended deadlines as much as possible to reach anyone that would need this money. Some of the sponsor had constraints on how their money must be spent, we arranged things to support anyone who asked us and we did it. 4/9

We hope this help to understand the unprecedented amount of work done and risks taken in the organisation of this NETSCI conference. 5/9
