1. DONT consume the product

Twitter is a resource

Usually with free resources

YOU are the product.

Like drug-dealers you simply don& #39;t consume what you& #39;re selling.

Or in this case - what your tweeting.

This means organisation

You need to keep your TL clean & organised.

Have you never noticed that big accounts usually have FAR LESS

"following" accounts than "follower" accounts?

This is not because they are stingy with follows

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="📍" title="Runde Reißzwecke" aria-label="Emoji: Runde Reißzwecke">It& #39;s because they are selective

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
They only follow those accounts that contribute to their personal gains

- fitness
- business
- lifestyle
- money saving
- niche specific

A key tip to get organised is to use LISTS

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
I did a thread about lists yesterday so I won& #39;t go into that here.

IF you missed it

2. TIME management

Ever find yourself wondering how people

grow faster than you but spend 2 hours a day on twitter?

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="📍" title="Runde Reißzwecke" aria-label="Emoji: Runde Reißzwecke">Because it& #39;s quality NOT quantity for the big accounts

Something I do now is allocate time slots.

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
You dedicate say 15 minutes SOLID twitter time

(that& #39;s all you need)

Every 3 hours.

Plus 15 minutes following every tweet of your own.

It helps if you actually use a stopwatch or timer

to stop you from getting sucked into the engagement

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
3. SCHEDULING

I& #39;ve tweeted about this before.

People get it confused.

Scheduling tweets DOESNT mean you only schedule tweets.

It& #39;s for covering blind spots.

When you know you will be away & wont be able to tweet.

Maybe a quote here or there.

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
This means they can tweet and

do not need to allocate time to physically be on twitter.

Then in your next 15-min slot you can catch up on the engagement from that scheduled tweet.

4. NETWORK

When spending time on twitter you must recognise

It is NOT about you.

You are not growing your following for yourself.

You& #39;re growing it to benefit others & make money from it.

Right?

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="📍" title="Runde Reißzwecke" aria-label="Emoji: Runde Reißzwecke">To do that - ppl NEED to know what you do or who you are

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
What that does is let& #39;s people recommend you

when somebody in their network is looking for something.

For example - my friend @blackhatwizardd is an email guru.

I know that! But he hasn& #39;t really made an effort to tell me.

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
When somebody wants tips or advice about email marketing.

Guess who will come to my mind?

that& #39;s why networking is important.

Particularly in the early days.

5. PROFESSIONALISM

The big accounts have

- consistency
- professionalism

This means they dont tweet random stuff.

They dont just tweet quotes or as the buzzword here is "platitudes"

They will tweet stuff that is

- relatable
- professional
- valuable

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
This will attract the type of people to your page who you want.

Why grow with just random people when none of them are your target market?

If I am selling health products

I need to attract people who want health advice and products.

https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="👇" title="Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten" aria-label="Emoji: Rückhand Zeigefinger nach unten">
I hope that helps you understand better.

Sharing some of the secret sauce that I have learned about.

Remember the story of the rabbit and the turtle

- faster does not mean better
