one more thing tho, what's with the double standards? a lot of people don't like Overhaul because child abuse, yakuza blah blah blah but then make aus where Kirishima and Bakugo are yakuza clan members who beat up and/or kill people

and don't get me wrong, I fucks with gang aus. before I started writing fanfics, I wrote streetlit/urban and most of them involved gang activity in some way shape or form (be it directly or indirectly). but my thing is... some people like to romanticize (...)

mafia/yakuza/gang aus and make it all when it's... really not? lol. but... what's the difference with you making your fave a gang member in your au, but you dislike an actual character or villain that... y'know, already is one?

gang stuff aint pretty. you're in it for life and in most cases, the only way out is death. you'll end up doing stuff you don't normally like or agree with and that could be ANYTHING. you disagree? you die. it's that simple. there's no running from it (...)

literally nothing is off the table. some initiation processes have you murder your relatives to prove yourself. idk it's just odd to me seeing yakuza/mafia/gang aus that sugarcoat stuff like that and make it all "uwu gwang shid uwu" when at one point (...)

we couldn't even flash the lights on our cars (what we do when another car's lights are off at night) because then we'd have to worry if that car will turn around and start shooting at us. there's no actual point to this thread? just my chump change
