I've seen a lot of misinformation about #KyleRittenhouse so I decided to take a moment and explain everything we know so far in this megathread.
Kyle traveled to #kenosha along with a few other people to assist in helping bussiness and authorities with the riots. There are pictures going around of him clearing graffiti. This doesn't excuse his violent actions but it definitely shows that he didn't go there 'to hunt'. (1)
In an interview taken that night, Kyle said he is there to 'protect bussiness' and 'help injured people'. He had a medkit on him and he was ready to go in the line of fire to help anyone who got hurt.
The interview can be found here: (2)
Way before the shooting took place, police can be seen throwing some water to the group Kyle was part of. I've seen a lot of people claiming this was after the shooting, and that police thanked him for doing what he did. (3)
This is false, the water was offered way before the incident, and the police thanked them for trying to provide medical assistance to those in need.
Police claimed they gave water to a lot of small groups that night, so this wasn't anything special. (4)
I've also seen a lot of people getting triggered over why police didn't question him over the illegal carrying of the weapon. This surely is because of white privilege, right? Wrong. There was no way for police to know he was underage. (5)
There were a lot of people with guns out that night, a lot of them illegally carrying them. Can you imagine if police took the time to question every single person who had a gun? That's a stupidly huge amount of workforce that could go towards more urgent tasks.(6)
Onto the main event, here's how it all started. The protesters lit a dumpster on fire and tried to push it into something. Some say they tried to push it into police vehicles, some say they tried to push it into a gas station. (7)
A member of a small militia went ahead and took the fire out before any damage could be done.
We don't know if this was Kyle, but we have a video of him running with a fire extinguisher around the area.
(8)
After the fire was put out the protesters got mad and started to become aggressive. Kyle allegedly tried to calm them down and that's when they started chasing after him.
The person closest to Rittenhouse is the first victim (who was shot in the head). (9)
He throws a plastic bag with unknown contents towards Kyle, but he misses. Next we can hear a gun shot (this was not Kyle, but one of the people chasing him). Kyle took a moment to look behind, and he saw victim 1 charging him. (10)
