Right, this might become a bit of a thread, so apologies in advance...

As you're aware, things have been pretty tough for comedians, such as myself, over the last 6 months.

Things seem to be picking up and I've been doing a handful of gigs but its likely to be a slow process
To be a jobbing comic is tough and seems to be getting tougher all the time, we could all do with support, so, in no particular order, here some things you can do to help in a small way.

1) if you enjoy a comedian's tweets please retweet them. Likes are lovely but RTs are better
2) If you live near a comedy club and you've never seen a comedian who you like listed on their bills why not send them a quick message on Twitter, facebook or via email saying that you'd love to see them at your local gig?
3) I know money is tight for everyone right now but if you can bung your favourite comedian a few quid to their Patreon or ko-fi account, buy some merchandise (if they have any) or book a ticket for an upcoming show, every little helps.
4) If you love what a comedian does, tell them.

Tweet them saying that you think they're great or funny but don't add any caveats, just give them a nice, clear compliment.

Comic brains are notoriously paranoid and will twist even a well intentioned comment into an insult.
5) If you work somewhere that occasionally books comedians for corporate gigs, why not recommend someone you really like?

Or if you know someone who's looking for someone to help with a speech (and, importantly, is willing to pay them) why not suggest a comedian?
If you can think of any other ways to promote comedians or help them to get work then let me know.

Each comedian is effectively a one person company, not only do they have to be funny but, to some extent, they have to generate their own work, which is often the trickiest bit.
