Casting Story-time! “Why being ahead of deadlines matters”

Once upon a time, we had a role. Invites were sent Monday, in-person auditions were Tuesday (pre-pandemic), self-tapes due Thursday. We were going to send options to Director on Friday/Monday depending on turnout. 1/🧵

The role was cast before the taping deadline passed, which is crazy! 2/
It’s not normal, but CAN happen. We try to set realistic expectations, but sometimes 💩 happens and we have to work with what we’ve got. We wanted to see everyone’s work, but we just couldn’t.

I’ve said it before, and it’s worth reiterating, if you can submit your tapes ASAP...
