Tribute to Periyar Lalai Singh Yadav on his 99th birth anniversary.

Born in an Arya Samaji family, Lalai Singh internalised the anti-caste values pretty early. Unlike other agrarian families, his father was adamant on getting his son educated. And, he was schooled.

He finished his schooling with Hindu and Urdu as his major subjects. This enabled the avid reader in him, and paved way to become a revolutionary litterateur. He wrote multiple short-plays with frivolous political tenor in them.

His notable work includes सोषितों पर धार्मिक डकैती (Religious Dacoity on the Oppressed), सिपाही की तबाही (Soldier’s Ruin), सच्ची रामायण की चाबी (Key to Ramayana: A True Reading).

Initially, he was a diligent worker of the Republic Party of India, the precursor to which was Dr Ambedkar’s Schedule Caste Federation. But he left the party after it’s unfortunate split. From then, he continued as an independent social activist.

He was completely dedicated to fight the brahminical carnage on the Bahujans. He realised OBCs are mental slaves of religion, and that they don’t realise the potential of their numerical dominance. Thus, he began his expedition to enlighten his kith & kins.

He was greatly influenced by Periyar E. V. Ramasamy. He read his Ramayana: A True Reading, and was convinced right away to translate it in Hindi for a wider propagation. Thus, he sought him asking for permission to translate, which he was duly granted.

Henceforth, he adopted Periyar’s self-respect principles and implemented them in North India. He promulgated the Aryan-Dravidian dichotomy in northern part, and worked tirelessly to free his people from the clutches of brahminism.

Upon Periyar’s demise, he was invited to Chennai at his condolence meet. His address there prompted a rush of euphoria &optimism in the crowd. Chants of “LALAI IS OUR NEW PERIYAR”, brimmed the environment, &he was therefore established as Periyar’s ideological successor.

The brahminical forces couldn’t stand Periyar Lalai Singh’s charisma and influence over people. Thus, they resorted to grotesque tactics to subdue him. Mixing lead in his groceries was one of them. He was slowly poisoned, and finally rested in power at the age of 82.

(9/n)
Leaving behind a legacy &a strong arsenal to defend ourselves against the brahminical forces, Periyar Lalai Singh Yadav is our greatest icon. The resurgence of Ram Mandir politics has made him even more relevant, and he must be overtly adopted by us.

Long Live Lalai✊
