CUPE Manitoba will no longer be purchasing advertisements on @energy106fm .

As Manitoba's largest labour union, we stand with our members and the community who have been hurt directly or indirectly by transphobic and anti-Indigenous racist narratives. 1/5
CUPE Manitoba spends considerable resources providing education to our activists, Stewards, and rank-and-file members to confront racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-Black, & anti-Indigenous racism in the workplace. 2/5
We know people can learn, and we dedicate a lot of space for that learning to take place.

However at this point in time we do not believe Energy 106 FM recognizes the impact their decision to change hosts has had in the community; 3/5
Winnipeg is struggling with very real anti-Indigenous, transphobic, and anti-Black violence, and we do not believe rewarding a host who has helped promote these narratives is helpful. 4/5
We will therefore no longer be purchasing advertising from Energy 106 FM, and we'll let them know why.
