If you've seen the film in a regular cinema....you probably have had it show like this.

You'll probably have mentioned to staff or asked on Twitter, and the cinema would then say it's intentional because of the 65mm cameras. It's...not. (1/)
It's the exact same issue that happened on DUNKIRK 3 years ago. The film file sent to cinemas is 2.20:1 letterboxed to 1.85:1 for the highest possible resolution. The instructions sent to cinemas by WB are below...but many cinemas appear to not be following them. (2/)
Now, why is that? No projectionists in venues able to set this up properly, for one. There's some as well it seems who are not happy at filmmakers going for non-standard formats like this, or 2.0:1 etc. Not worth the fuss.

...complain anyway if this is an issue. If you get stonewalled - perhaps point them to that instructions letter screenshot (for the record, it was from DUNKIRK). Hope this helps! And stay safe. (4/)
