So, there is a huge split between responses over Adele, & I think it's a point for Black cultural conversations.

The fact that she was giving a shout out to a community that she was raised in & that community accepted it as appreciation, I think that that should be enough.
Black American cultures aren't necessarily based on the same understanding of Black International cultures, & so when Black Americans try to speak on seemingly how Black International folk should feel it's a bit confusing. Atleast for my experience.
Black convo only, please.
I just prefer to listen to the perspectives of the people groups who are local to the experience 😬 and right now that is not Black Americans

Also adding, since it was brought up in a few threads, the accusation that Black Americans don't have culture is beyond a miss.

Shit is press out in the U.S. for us, especially for poor Black folk, & we don't as often have the experience of white poor folk locking arms with us
because they were taught not to. But even through that we created joy, art, & community that is also recognized globally.

So, both realities can be recognized. Black Americans have reasons to have harsher views on race relations state side Because That Is Our Environment, AND
it is important for Black Americans to listen for the experiences of Black International folk & take their lead when it's on their turf.
