At this point, as a game dev, I can comfortable admit that if there was someone that asked for an Xbox as a holiday gift, I would get confused enough that I would probably buy the wrong one.

The naming is utterly confusing for now - surely a fleeting problem, but annoying.

Anyway the new one that seems all-but-announced is the Xbox Series S, which isn't the Xbox One S, which is the slim version of the Xbox One - the default version of the Xbox One, not the more powerful version that is the Xbox One X, which is not the next-gen Xbox Series X.
