A thread on why some white professors think that they should be able to say the n-word in class. (1/x)
Privilege. (2/2)
And they will blog about it, tweet about it, fight to the death to say a word that, they argue, is *integral* to learning how to be a lawyer. All of a sudden, they are experts on pedagogy, sandwiched between anecdotes about their own oppression, to justify using this word. (3/2)
It's not necessary to say this word to clarify historical context. If students don't understand the history behind it, then we have larger problems. The reality is that this isn't about the students, but white profs thinking that they have a right to say the word. You don't. (4/2)
