how did the two of them start play acnh? easy. osamu bought a switch due to boredom, and knew acnh because keiji played it. keiji himself played all because of his gaming youtuber friend& #39;s advice. (we all know who it is!)
despite being early for two or three days, actually, keiji was still figuring out how the game works. "...are we supposed to only catching bugs to pay our loan?" so osamu was able to catch up fastly.

its simple: those time when they havent really play together, only met at their island occasionally, keiji learned by his youtuber friend& #39;s advice (again...) that the fastest way to making money was: grew money trees, go to tarantula island, and invest tons of turnips.
(also its because of kodzuken& #39;s discord server filled with posts of turnip prices every sunday, it was how keiji racks a lot amount of money in two months. #improvementgoalsmethinks)
note that they played in a slow pace, didnt time travel (simply bc they have more important jobs to finish rather than continously playing), so osamu quickly made efforts to catch up with keiji.

it used to be a simple decorated island, with existing path layouts, small amount of trees around keiji& #39;s villager residence.
now, his boyfriend island was filled with pretty nature-themed decorations (that costs a lot of money, and Patience for collecting those DIY recipes.)

on top of that, keiji seemed to put extra effort in terraforming, osamu noticed. (it was really obvious though, keiji already mastered the art of Making Waterfalls.)

it was decided that osamu would catching up to keiji again. (he may not show it fully, but hes one of ambitious bitch. influenced by his one and only brother.)
when shops had finally begun to reopened again, his coworker at onigiri miya started to notice, at every moments given, at every zombie hour: osamu would fixated in his switch, and without a single word spoken, asking everyone to not bother him.
and every night, after bided each other a quick "have a good sleep" with his boyfriend, he didnt sleep after all.

even after multiple attempts at designing his island, osamu still cant do it. he sucked up his failure as keiji asked him at one visit, "do you want me to help you redesigning your island? i am fortunately idle in the upcoming days."
(it still amazes him. keiji understands him even there wasnt any words exchanged. or when keiji helped him when hes too embarrased to ask.)
