On Kellie-Jay Keen Minshull (aka Posie Parker) - my feelings, a thread.
I’ve been following her for about 10 months. I understand she’s a divisive figure. The time I’ve been following her I’ve not necessarily agreed with her 100% and I agree sometimes she says things in a tactless way.
I’ve seen some of the screen grabs from years ago now where she is talking about the seeming double standard that “Muslim grooming gangs” seem to get away with things because people are scared of being seen as racist.
She says she used to be an “anti theist” & as a gold star atheist myself I recognise from other atheists I used to know the desire to strongly challenge non-Christian religions & cultures where Women/gay people etc are harmed & the bad eggs that arise from them because...
...of the way the lefty liberal atheists will openly call out everything they hate in Christianity or white western culture and bad actors within but be too scared to do so on other religions/cultures even were women are being routinely abused or oppressed.
With regards to the “black face” picture being used as evidence KJ is racist - KJ is clearly saying here that she sees men in drag being given awards is misogynistic & comparing it to a group of minstrels getting awards. Some radfems I follow agree with her on this about drag.
Others don’t - notably Magdalen Berns didn’t think so. As a man I’m sitting on the fence on this one as it’s not my place to say. But I don’t think this is evidence of racism. The time I’ve been following her I’ve never seen KJ be racist or Islamaphobic.
In actual fact I’ve seen her do live streams where she’s challenged people who have made racist comments to her.
I don’t like the “lets parade these 4 screenshots from years ago to trash her” either. It’s reminiscent of Aiden Comerford and that one poorly phrased tweet of Magdalen’s thst he constantly posts as proof of how Magdalen was pure evil

I do however strongly believe that KJ has really helped drive this conversation forward and help peak more people. She’s incredibly shrewd focusing on simple messages & branding (eg adult human female) & she herself will leave personal conflicts at the door.
I’ve seen her promote the work & actions of others who openly despise her and talk her down - she doesn’t care what you think about her but she does care about the message she about saving women’s and children’s rights.
She clearly doesn’t agree with JK Rowling on many things but she recognises the importance of what she is doing - she is doing the best to rally the support of people who don’t like Rowling & really pushing the importance to support others even if you don’t like them
And she’s making it clear you don’t need to like or agree with people on anything but ally with them on the mission and goal of protecting women’s and children’s rights.
I don’t like purity politics and I think it’s what is destroying the woke left.
She may not be a nice person, I don’t know, I want to see her speak and support her because I support the message. I think she’s an important voice & I think she has the ability to reach normal working class people.
If you want to criticise her, go for it, but try harder than a few 4 year old screenshots.
