Last night for the first time since March I sat in a movie theater and watched a new movie. The theater was The Music Box and the movie was Tenet, directed by Christopher Nolan, and it was screened in 70mm.
#TenetMovie
I sat in the back row with nobody to the left or right of me. Out of the hundreds of available seats they only sell 50 tickets. The nearest people were four rows ahead of me.
I was shocked by how comfortable I was in the theater.
Everybody wore masks and the theater doesn’t recycle air. They pull air in from the outside and push it back out. In between screenings they open the doors and wipe down every seat.
They clearly took all necessary precautions and then went further. A few months ago I had a non-COVID related hospital stay and felt far more comfortable in this theater. (Although the hospital did a fine job as well)
For 2.5 hours I was able to shut off all my concerns about the pandemic, Trump, and the election, and just watch a great movie.

I can’t speak to every theater, but I can tell you that The Music Box is taking COVID-19 seriously and I felt safe there.
