How to read book effectively:

This idea is not my mine completely,
It is inspired from years of learning from article, blogs and podcast ➡️

Thread 📚🍁
Take your time and then read this thread its a little bit nerdy, but I will try my best to simplify 📖
1) Meta learning:
Meta leanring is knowing how to learn. Learning itself is a skill, and knowing how to do it well is an incredibly valuable advantage.
2) These two way process:
> Read and listen the carefully.
> Process and recall what you have read and listened. (Best way is to write about it)
3) Remember:
Remembering right thing is very important.
As albert einstein said: "Never memorize what you can look up in the book."
4) Mental model:
A mental models is simplified version of how something works.
Make your own mental model and find different conclusion of book, it will help you interpret you how anything works.
5) From now on, no more passive reading. EVER.
6) Know your why
As naval ravikant points out, most books have one point to make and it's fine to skip and skim all those sinful part.
7) Learn how to make mind map.
Reacll with writing what you learnt in points.
8) Elon musk's approach to reading and learning:
Make sure you understand the fundamental principles, the trunk and big branches, before you get into the leaves/details or there is nothing for them to hang on.
9) Approach by Shane parrish:
At the end of each chapter, without looking back, write some noted on main points/ arguments/ take aways. Then look back through the chapter and write down anything you missed.
10) Keep on upgrading your mental model.
11) DON'T FORGET TO HAVE FUN.
I will be continuing this slowly slowly .
And also everyone should take this process slowly but effectively and be consistent. 🤗
