I wonder if we are going to go, ethno nationalists, as the country starts to implode. There is still a good case for it since the 1970's. Today I look back and think that it is the only way forward. Watching these kids take the brunt is not acceptable. The Bushman woman is right.
Important questions - Why are we being overlooked and why do we support other people's issues, yet get no support for ours from those same people? Why have we been made ashamed to be Coloureds? (Coloured: A Profile Of Two Million South Africans by Al J. Venter) Bloody good book.
Even the Bushman woman has to admit that it is coming to an end and that it is not going to end well. She never did say what the way out was other than politics does not work in a collapse. Just the identity has to be restored. How --- that is the 40-year-old question.
Our imposed history. Is it going to be better, to tell the truth, or continue lies until it ends in conflict? We see this move to use created history and a victim narrative to justify more injustice. Is telling the truth (not mine or yours) a form of justice?
What comes to mind with the OO word.

An excellent video on the start of the Cape of Good Hope with Jan Van Riebeeck. Here is also a summary of the book "The Haarlem Shipwreck" which gives the start another angle. As Cape Coloureds, this should be in our school books.

@ThuliMadonsela3 Asks how do you meaningfully engage with people who don’t read? Well in Africa history is made up and policies are drafted for this made up history. This is why Africa has so many civil wars, and South Africa is not unique. Its just a matter of time.
First time I recall us being acknowledged in anything. The first time someone mentioned that independence is not going to occur unless Coloureds play ball. Considering the countries history, that's going to be a tough sell.
Why do we as Coloureds with 50% of the population of the Western Cape only get 10% of the opportunities to fill up BEE and AA? Gatvol Capetonian is getting better but not there yet. At least he can see the blacks have buggered us over. That's a good start.
In the second part of the Cape of Good Hope and the Hottentots at the Cape, we see the different clans. We also see from Jan Van Riebeeck's diary that the leader "Harry die Strandloper" lived in Batam before Jan van Riebeeck arrived at the Cape.
The narrator looks at where the first small fort was built. It was built where the Grand Parade is today next to the castle which was built later. (The Grand Parade, Cape Town: Archaeological Excavations of the Seventeenth Century Fort de Goede Hoop)
Very good insight by @uMarhobane into the state of South Africa. What the ANC might be looking at and why South Africa will end in tears. Brilliant interview!
Very good insight in the problems at the Cape when it comes to identity. One would never think that a system could bring you to that point where you would be ashamed to be who you are. This complex problem will only get worst. https://www.iol.co.za/capeargus/life/cape-coloureds-it-is-a-complex-cultural-heritage-36690781
After years of being told what to do and who we are. As Cape Coloureds in the Western Cape. When do we choose our own fate? #capeindependence
The sun will shine on those at the Cape of Good Hope. Happy Heritage day to one and all. #capeindependence
In this episode we learn why the area is called Houtbay and also Lions Head. We are introduced to the dynamics between the 3 tribes - Waterman (Goringhaikonas), Capemen (Goringhaiquas) and Saldanhars (Cochoquas). Similar dress and language but different.
Portuguese militarist Viceroy Francisco D 'Almeida found his demise in the battle of Gorinhaiqua on 1 March 1510, when he and 49 of his were killed by local Khoi warriors. Also known as the Battle of Almeida.
Maybe my guess was not wrong after all. Looks like as the system starts to collapse, ethnic pride has rocked up. I am amused.
Sail to Houtbay almost lost Goede Hoope under Sijmoen Turver. Elizabeth Island got renamed Dassen Island after the Rock Rabbits or Dassie's. Discover Langebaan Lagoon. Khoi trade picks up. Khoi cattle drives with 1,000+ cattle recorded. Question raised?
