me talking about the boyz’s dance line dancing style because my opinion fucking matters (not) : a thread

hi so i’m a dancer myself i’ve been dancing for abouttt 4ish years just at school we go on competitions and events but not like as serious as an academy and shit

1) changmin

let’s start with changmin because why not . i don’t know if it’s just me being biased but i see a lot of similarities with him and vixx’s n/cha hakyeon’s style which is v v VERY elegant but full of emotions?? he can do sexy he can do cute,, groove is quite nice but

not extraordinary (i will get to this later), hitting is very nice, locking is VERY nice, but overall i just think the main point is the delivery,, like every move feels like full of substance and shit,, i’d say best potential for traditional east asian dances (kinda like what

n did during the shang ri la era,, there’s this one video with traditional clothing, fabrics, and fans,, u know the one) or like the a to boyz video,,,, another similar dancer i had in mind is i think winwin from nct/wayv

one thing i’d say is typically with this dancing style the hitting isn’t that good like it’s just nice and ok but not like HARD but changmin HITS when he needed to so that’s great,, oh also i think he’s v adaptive with styles but the elegance always stood out the most imo

2) juyeon

y’all already know but juyeon’s and changmin’s styles is VERY different,, literally 180 i think. juyeon,, i think his moves is VERY VERY gentle and focus more on the smoothness,, but it’s kinda tricky since elegance IS smooth,, thing is i think sometimes with changmin

u know when he hits HARD. but for juyeon he hits but it’s not HARD hard,, so just kinda smooth?? best wording is just gentle i think. locking is great, hitting is ok like it’s nice but not HARD, groove is EXTRAORDINARY. thing with groove i think the best representation would be

his waves???? it’s just so,,, effortless and gentle,, it’s very nice. & on the hitting,, since he doesn’t hit HARD, it’s tricky because sometimes it kinda seems like he kinda lacks power but i think it’s just the style. overall conclusion is just gentle

i’ve been thinking hard about who to compare with juyeon in terms of style but i think nct’s jaehyun,, not sure if jaehyun’s a born dancer but even with them both having similar dance style i think juyeon seems more of a born dancer

+ i just thought about this i want to add sharpness element and the width(?) of the moves, not sure if that’s the correct translation since that’s only the rough one from my mother tongue but it basically means like not doing small moves and use your body to do moves maximally

+ so with that being said i may be biased but changmin’s moves are VERY sharp and VERY wide,, dancer of the century yup yup. so far out of the juyeon fancams i’ve seen i think his moves are v wide like changmin but definitely not sharp (again, gentle)

3) sunwoo

i’m sorry i’m so bad at this i don’t know the exact word to describe sunwoo’s dancing style but i’ll try to explain,, so sunwoo comparatively with them both is kinda the middle ground imo. his moves are somewhat gentle and his waves are V nice but he adds power and

sharpness (a bit), and locking is nice. btw i mean locking as in making your body to not look weak and kinda like having substance to both your body & your moves,, also to lock your moves and not like do it carelessly(?) but yeah that’s that. i think in terms of power and

sharpness, he definitely hits but it’s just not sharp. u can try comparing changmin hitting and him,, sunwoo’s definitely has power in it but the delivery is just not as sharp. also comparatively with changmin and juyeon, sunwoo doesn’t seem like a born dancer?? not saying he’s

not good at it, he’s def good but at times u can kinda notice he practiced for it meanwhile with changmin and juyeon maybe you’d feel like they just do it on the stop if that makes sense. also i think the width of his moves is just not as wide as the other two, this is not very

noticeable majority of the time but at certain times i think you could notice it. with sunwoo though, this may be biased & v subjective, but i think is body line is very very nice?? idk just makes his moves look v v sexy i mean juyeon also radiates sexy but with juyeon i think

it’s more on his facials and like moves, but with sunwoo,, he’s just sexy . in conclusion sunwoo hot

so to compare i’m not entirely sure yet but i kinda see bts’s v/taehyung in terms of style?? not sure though. also to compare the middle ground between juyeon and changmin say juyeon is 0 and changmin is 10,, i’d say a 5/6, so a pretty good combination of both

for now end of thread because i’m just now getting into tbz i’m not sure if jacob/eric are also on the dance line and i haven’t really watched their fancam so, but ps eric is v dance line material as far as what i’ve seen
