@skuwamoto was one of my interviewers for Figma, and exuded a warmth and calm that never went away. He was my manager for over two years and did so much to set and reinforce the humanizing culture of the company.

Sho might say that his superpower is being able to read the room, but I think it& #39;s broadly being able to put people at ease.

I& #39;ve lost count of the number of times I would have a minor freakout at work followed by a walk around Yerba Buena with Sho and then feel better.

I& #39;ve had the good fortune to work with a few people where when I have a problem I& #39;ve been stumped on for hours or days, I& #39;ll explain to them, then in three words they& #39;ll show me an answer. @evanwallace& #39;s been that for me for engineering, but it was @skuwamoto for product.

Besides work, Sho& #39;s recommended me quality Japanese knives, given me a recipe for how to make delicious vegetarian ramen like a gigantic cheater, and explained to me why not using a salad spinner to get rid of all the water for salads is like, really gross.

But I think the clearest memory I& #39;ll carry for a long time is sitting in a conference room, breaking down crying in front of Sho processing a depressive episode I had back in 2016.

He just listened calmly, and asked when I needed. He read the room, and put me at ease.
