1/ #MtShiniu 石牛山 #Shimen 石門山. Although you can take #Hsinchu Bus 5638 from 關西 & get off at 李樹下 to the trailhead, it's still not easy to get to this #hike. There are some steep slopes to climb but the views are amazing. You can see Mt Jiali, Beicha & other peaks there.

2/ First 2 photos were on the way to Mt Shiniu, steep but fun. After the summit, we continued to hike Mt Shimen. There were some cute suspension bridges & the lights in the woods were amazing. But it was really hot & humid.

3/ I like Mt. Shiniu much better b/c of the views. As to Mt. Shimen, nothing much to be exact. Tofu pudding near the exit was a great delight esp in hot summer. Our guide was very kind to buy that for everyone. Although we circled Shimen Reservoir, we didn't get to see much of it

4/ This was the closest Shimen Reservoir we could see. I also put the views from Mt. Shiniu summit in this video clip.

5/ I thought this would be an easy hike, but we still had 800m+ ascending & descending. Thighs are still sore today Btw, I saw a beautiful Dutchmans pipe cactus at the gardens of those houses near the trailhead, also many beautiful Pollia miranda on the trails. /end
