It’s amazing, watching the train wreck happening in Southlake. We don’t have leaders, we have figure heads bending to the will of openly racist and outwardly hateful people. Opting not to make change for kids who are literally begging for it in a district that sees them as dirt.

It’s extremely telling to watch these “leaders” fold at the pressure of their neighbors, golf buddies, church friends, etc., when handling a topic that should be without controversy to begin with. If you are racist you will be punished. We will not tolerate discrimination.

Clearly they don’t know what leadership is. Because a leader stands up even if they are standing alone. A leader inspires & facilitates. A leader takes none of the credit and all of the blame. A leader stands firm to what they believe in & what’s right even amidst great adversity

And it has become increasingly clear that the leaders of Southlake are not leading. They are deferring, to those around them, to the loudest voices, to the ones that tell them - do nothing and it’ll all go away and life will go back to normal.

What they still can’t seem to understand is that a white student’s normal is a Black student’s hell. A white student’s normal is an Asian student’s pain, a white student’ normal is a Hispanic student’s trauma. We will not accept a return to normalcy.

Those who stand for nothing fall for anything” Alexander Hamilton. It’s quite obvious that this district is embracing the latter. @Carrollisd I don’t know how much easier this could be. The entire country is doing something, every major sport has. Don’t tell me you can’t.

It has quite literally never been easier and more obvious to be on the right side of history. And frankly, you are currently siding with the oppressor over listening to and acting upon the voices and stories of the oppressed. Let me know you, it’s not a great look. DO WHATS RIGHT
