Growing up my mum taught English, and I think what that did was make me very conscious of words
Words mean things, and one of the easiest ways to cause confusion is to use a word that is commonly known to mean one thing, to refer to something else
One of the most incredible achievements of our time was making the word "bad" mean "good" 😂
Imagine trying to explain to a woman from another time (as she slaps you) that you weren't calling her a "poorly behaved female dog" ... You were actually paying her a compliment
One thing I realised I had to be conscious of, is how many words the people speaking and spoken of in the Bible used to refer to something that we aren't referring to when we use same words
"The word"

"Scripture"

"Commandment"

And probably even "heaven", "satan" and "hell"
Paul did not consider his words scripture... When he said "not even the worst sins listed in scripture can separate us from the love of God"
It wasn't the Bible the men of Berea were searching through
It wasn't the Bible John was talking about when he said "... and the word was God"... Nor was it the Bible David said was a lamp unto his feet
That's why there's a verse that's all so important... When Jesus says "a new commandment I give to you"
That's so powerful... Because you must understand that every commandment that came before, became irrelevant in that moment
"On a mountain"- "a lofty place", often representing the highest realms of thinking

"Moses and Elijah" - often representing "the law and the prophets"
El Elyon tells "the law and the prophets" at the highest realms reasoning that Jesus is who should be listened to
And what was that commandment... Not just "love one another", there's a template given, "as I have loved you"
So on the contrary... You are all supposed to be "a preacher of love" 🌚
If there is one commandment, then there is one sin... But unlike previous commandments, that sin does not come with a punishment, because the commandment comes with a teacher
You were not even given the "responsibility" of keeping that commandment... For what else can anyone give, but that which they have first received?
