This is, still, not a correct description of the scene. There is no conversation about whether or not Clark should save people or be a hero anywhere in the movie EXCEPT towards the finale when Joe-El tells Clark he can save the world from Zod. https://twitter.com/critical_kitcat/status/1300429985228795904
Johnathan does NOT say people aren’t ready for an, “alien to be their hero”. He says humanity is not ready to know alien life EXISTS. After the, “Maybe” there is no mention of using his powers to save or help people, or really to do anything at all, because the focus of the scene
Is on the fact that he’s an alien. That is treated as far more important than the powers. And John even expects that eventually people will find out because he specifically says, “WHEN the world finds out what you can do…” He doesn’t say dont let them or, “IF” - he says, “WHEN”.
So again, conversation in MoS is NOT about whether or not Clark should use his powers to save people. Jor-El doesn’t tell him to save people; he tells him he can help humanity avoid making Kryptons mistakes when he gives him the suit.
He only says he can save them in the SPECIFIC circumstances of Zod’s terraforming attack - because at that moment it happens to the true. He doesn’t say, “Be a superhero son. Put away bank robbers and rescue lost puppies” There is a subtext, but it’s NOT the text.
The John scene in BvS is, again, NOT about whether or not Clark should use his powers to save people. It’s a story about having faith. To not stop trying to do good just because bad things still happen. NOT about whether or not he should be helping people.
At NOT POINT does anyone advise Clark on whether or not he should or should not use his powers to help people. Not John, not Martha, not Lois, not Jor-El, not Pete Ross - no one. It’s NEVER a subject of conversation in the movie because the moves NOT ABOUT BEING A SUPERHERO.
