I wonder how many people with pre-existing anxiety disorders are developing agoraphobia as a result of sheltering in place.

I wonder if anyone is studying or planning to study whether there is a significant increase in the incidence of anxiety disorders on a larger scale.
This will not be the last pandemic.

The situation presents an opportunity to study the impact on public health beyond just the impact of the disease itself on the survivors themselves.

It would be good to know some meaning was being made from our collective suffering.
I encourage people to take notes about what we’re experiencing and—perhaps more significantly for research purposes—notes on what we are witnessing in terms of the impact on our children and their development.

Contemporaneous notes are great sources for retrospective research.
This thread hit a nerve, so please know that what we are living through is an event on a massive, historic scale. It’s affecting everyone, one way or another.

You are not crazy.
You are not alone.

We will get through this, together.
We are our greatest strength.
