Sweden is not a great role model for us to follow for COVID control. Their deaths per million is much worse than neighboring countries: 5 times worse than Denmark, & 10 times worse than Finland & Norway.

Sweden is #9 in the world for highest number of COVID deaths/million.
Sweden paid a big price to get where they are now.

But their demographics, & deaths per million by age group are different. If we consider people <80, they kept deaths to 200/million vs 320/million for USA. Maybe coz of their population health & universal health care system.
We would have a massive loss of life if we tried to do herd immunity. It’s an unequivocally bad idea.

We need to continue common sense measures: testing, distancing, masks till we have a vaccine. New cases per day are slowly coming down.

Be patient. Or risk a 2nd wave.
I had to delete and repost the 2nd and 3rd tweet in this thread because I had a typo.
