There are mixed messages about distancing in #bced schools. Dr. Bonnie Henry said this today when asked why an actual classroom is different from the ad she was in: "We will have distancing within those classroom settings, within those small numbers of groups of children.”
But at other times the message is distancing is not required within the learning cohort. This is what's B.C.'s back to school plan says: "People in a learning group don't need to stay two metres apart but they must limit physical contact." So, I'm not sure which one is correct.
To add context, here is the full text of what PHO Dr. Bonnie Henry said when asked about the Ministry of Education statement that Global News reported said to videotape the ad the number of students was limited for health and safety reasons. #bced #covid19
Dr. Bonnie Henry: “When we’re talking about schools and a regular day-to-day basis for schools, what we’re looking at is the classroom is your unit of connection and that is a set, controlled environment and #bced #covid19
... we know it will be the same children every day that will be in that small group with the same adults every day. The numbers of teachers and children that they will interact with is contained and limited. #bced #covid19
"... And we will have distancing within those classroom settings, within those small numbers of groups of children.”
