stefan threatening to drive elena off the bridge is a horrible scene even for me but some of y’all gotta zoom out and stop being hypocrites. from that point onward stefan began acting like his old self again. he even stopped drinking blood

that moment was a huge turning point in stelena’s relationship. what stefan did was wrong but he DID apologize and they WERE able to get through this.

now i see some of y’all say shit like “he did it with his humanity on” and while that’s not entirely untrue, it’s also not COMPLETELY true?? damon says it here, referring to it as “dimmer” bc even though stefan COULD feel, he was focusing on rage, rage against klaus

sound familiar? it’s bc elena did the same exact thing when she got her humanity back. she focused on rage against katherine.

rebekah mentions it here that elena’s emotions are focused on rage, just like stefan’s were

y’all see this? this is EXACTLY how stefan was with klaus. killing klaus became an obsession, a mission, and that is precisely what that bridge scene was all abt.. how far stefan could took his obsession. same problem elena’s facing here

similar to how it’s all stefan could think abt at that point

“if i let myself care, all i feel is pain”. this perfectly illustrates stefan’s entire arc in s3. he acknowledges how he hurt elena, he even apologized as mentioned before, and yet he doesn’t WANT to care bc he KNOWS how badly he fucked up when he was obsessing over klaus

this directly keeps in line with what elena tells caroline. “i cant let myself feel bad because if i feel bad then i feel everything”. it’s insane how similar elena and stefan were at these points but some of y’all just choose to ignore it to fuel your stefan hatred

**disclaimer** this isn’t me excusing stefan’s actions! my point is that y’all cannot let that moment, one where stefan was just coming out of a ripper binge and where he was trying to get revenge on klaus for ruining his life, be a reason to hate on him or imply he’d hurt elena

yes, it was awful, but also somewhat understandable. we SAW just how much klaus ruined his life, just like we SAW how much katherine ruined elena’s by having a hand in jeremy’s death

now imagine if someone decided they wanted to hate elena for this scene. elena in her right mind would never willingly put bonnie’s life in jeopardy, but here, she doesn’t care. she still wants katherine dead. and she says all this with her humanity ON

elena also says this. keep in mind i’m not saying elena’s and stefan’s actions are even remotely similar at this stage. i’m saying that rational elena wouldn’t say shit like this and rational stefan would never put elena’s life in danger like he did on the bridge

all in all stefan’s actions in s3 were horrendous but you can’t lie and say shit like “this is why i cant ship stelena” “this is why i hate stefan” especially coming from ders cause it just makes y’all sound DUMB considering all the awful shit damon did and never apologized for
