“I know many non hijabis who are better Muslims than hijabis”

[THREAD 🧵]
I have never understood why Muslims use this statement. What does it even mean? Are you trying to excuse not wearing the hijab?

Hijab is a fardh, and every second of your limited existence in public without it, is haram
Public sinning is worse than private sinning. What a hijabi does in private is not for you to expose

However, non hijabis are publicly sinning, and this is for the world to see now
You would never say, “I know Muslims who don’t pray who are better than Muslims who pray.” Or “I know Muslims who don’t fast who are better Muslims than those who fast.”

These are all fardh and you would never say this. So why are you saying it for the hijab?
The statement undermines the women who wear hijab and struggle in the West with it

If hijab was in the heart, then it would be on the head. If you struggle right now to wear it, may Allah make it easier for you

But don’t bring other people down with you, in order to justify it

These ahadith are explaining what the women did after the verse was revealed
