My prof got upset w me for being on zoom while at work. She said “be responsible & dont overlap your schedule.” I work to pay for my education! This pandemic has caused my job to cut my hours & I’m gonna take whatever schedule they give me bc my literal livelihood depends on it
Literally wanted to cry bc does she think that I wouldn’t much rather be 100% present for my lecture instead of fucking trying to multitask? I’m tired of educators expecting us to drop everything to solely focus on their class ESPECIALLY during these times. Classist bitch
To those asking how I responded: I was obvi caught off guard but (bc she said I was also being distracting) I asked the class if my being at work was getting in the way of their education & they said no so I then asked her if she would prefer I not attend class & she said no..
I proceeded to tell her that I don’t understand that contradiction between being an educator and not wanting to see her students grow and be productive members of society. I also sent her a (respectful) email and have yet to receive a response
The email lol I kept it as respectful as possible but believe me I wanted to cuss her privileged-boomer-ass out. I also won’t be giving out her email bc Idk if it’s like a privacy thing??? But I don’t want to be sued or failed lmao
This is getting an overwhelming and unexpected amount of attention. While I understand that venting and putting my life out there is open to judgement and (unsolicited) input, I am on the verge of losing my shit (respectfully). Lol so unless you’re paying my bills stfu

She’ll be recording her zoom sessions now & attendance is no longer mandatory :)
I’m proud of myself for standing up to her bc in the past I would’ve just dropped the class lmao it also makes me so happy bc there’s probably others in my class who felt the same way & I’m so glad they won’t have to choose between work & school!
