1/8The internet is abuzz regarding the updated #COVID19 death stats, thinking that it's only 6% of deaths being Covid. Yes and no, let me break it down below.
Firstly, there has been rampant misdiagnosing and miscodig of cases & deaths, meaning data integrity is horrible.

2/8Death WITH CoV2 vs death FROM CoV2:
Being diagnosed with CoV2 post mortem doesn't equate to death from the virus, however, what the data shows is that CoV-2 was the sole cause of death in 6% of these cases. The rest were comorbidity ridden

3/8It's being falsely concluded that e.g. CoV2->pneumonia->death, and that CoV2 has been amplifying the casualty outcomes, but we cannot include this for all cases since we can't accurately track infection progression. Importantly, as a virus goes through a society it becomes

4/8less virulent, meaning it infects (sometimes at a higher rate) but death or severe symptoms become exponentially less frequent as the virus evolves to the host. W/o a constant baseline, we cannot infer this death result. Death coding & reporting fails to account for this.

5/8This 6% does tell us that it's relatively safe for us to return to living as we did pre Chiefs Super Bowl win, while still guarding the most vulnerable as the virulence continues to reduce. Of the 94% the average number of comorbidities was around 2.4, meaning CoV2 had help.

6/8What we need to take away from this is that it's our responsibility to take accountability for our health to eliminate many of the ailments that were amplified by CoV2, and to prevent susceptibility to conditions/sicknesses that are within our control.

7/8Proper diet, exercise, exposure to a healthy environment, and paying attention to actual scientists not spewing hysteria. There will be no correction to the errant case count or the confounded death tally because this is political now, but we must understand that

8/8the data shows us by taking care of ourselves, implementing appropriate measures for the immunocompromised & elderly, and listening to science over hysteria, we're more than able to return to life w/o the need of masks (which the science says are ineffective).
