You can‘t both sides the violence in USA right now. It may be politically palatable for white America to do so but it’s not reality nor is it responsive to it. White supremacists are #1 terrorism threat in the USA, responsible for numerous deaths & supported by the current admin.

If any extremist ideology other than white supremacists were engaging in the behavior they have been the past several years and receiving the support of elected officials, no one would struggle with naming it & unequivocally condemning it. This is about racism.

Folks refuse to identify white supremacy & the far right as being the #1 threat to the safety & stability of Americans right now for the same reason they’ve historically refused to name it as a form of terrorism or even acknowledge it as a specific ideology. Mainstream racism.

The source of violence & unrest in this country is RACISM & the daily state-sanctioned violence being carried out by its police forces. The situation continues to spiral because we have gov’t officials who either enable this violence to continue or who actively encourage it.

The “both sides are violent” narrative is an enormous whitewashing of the issue that will do nothing to address these realities or prevent an ever increasing amount of right wing terrorism.
