Attrny Sam Aguiar, who represents Taylor’s family, claims the plea offer shows police & prosecutors were trying to smear her. “The fact that they would try to even represent that she was a co-defendant in a criminal case more than a month after she died is absolutely disgusting”
Glover turned down the plea offer, which would have resulted in a possible 10-year prison sentence for charges of criminal syndication, drug trafficking and gun charges.
If he had taken the plea, Glover could possibly had been released on probation instead of serving prison time.
Defense attorney Ted Shouse said the strategy seems to have been to destroy Breonna Taylor “because she is destroying them. And they want Jamarcus Glover to do it for them because their efforts have failed. So they offer him a bribe, basically. All you have to do is smear her.”
Commonwealth's Attorney Tom Wine has responded, saying the plea offer was a "draft" and when he saw it, "out of respect for Ms. Taylor," he had Breonna Taylor's name removed. Also says there was information implicating Taylor in Glover's "criminal activity."
Attorney Scott Barton, who represented Glover, said he recieved several plea offers from prosecutors. One had Breonna Taylor's in it, Others did not. All of them were drafts.
The most recent offer did not have Tayor's name in it.
Sam Aguiar, an attorney for Taylor's family, said "there is no 'characterization of a draft plea sheet' (as Wine said). There is literally a verbatim recitation of the plea sheet that list her under co-defendants."
The plea "was obviously presented to Glover and his attorney."
"There is no such thing as a draft plea agreement," an attorney told me. "When they send you a plea agreement, if your client signs it, it is the plea agreement. You can accept it or not accept it.
Another statement from Sam Aguiar, attorney for Breonna Taylor's family:
"The reality is that they offered a deal on July 13 naming Breonna Taylor as a co-Defendant. Why would they put her name on there? Well that’s up to them to explain. It’s outrageous."
While Breonna Taylor's name was removed as a "co-defendant" from the most recent plea offer, Jamarcus Glover was still going to have to say that he and other co-defendants used Taylor's apartment to store "proceeds from the trafficking operation" and she handled "all his money"
