What’s happened to contributing artists on @TheZoneCast GNs is unacceptable. That being said, there is a larger 3rd party involved.
The @McElroyFamily is *far* from perfect, but they have fumblingly tried to be better allies and care about their fans.
Wait more than ONE HOUR.

Supporters of the @McElroyFamily deserve an explanation and all artists deserve full (re)compensation and to be released from any contracts signed. Full stop.
But they’ve shown enough earnest appreciation for their fans that we can give them more than two hours to respond.

In all likelihood, they haven’t even seen this chaos yet; they’re grown adults with children. They don’t live on Twitter.
In fact, most of the real world doesn’t. So “canceling” someone an hour after a tweet appears is fucking insane.

Anyway. The artists involved— and we can reasonably assume that more than one contributing artist was ripped off— deserve recompense and retroactive pay/settlement. I hope the family steps up to rectify this, and re-evaluates their contract with First Second Publishing.
There’s little point in @ing them in this thread, since I’m sure their Twitter mentions will be overwhelmed. But for good measure:
