Bad

1. Michael had believed that Bad went beyond the message that Beat It had.

2. Many vocal takes were mixed for the Dance Extended Mix.

2. The Way You Make Me Feel

1. The demo is known as “Hot Fever.”

2. When dance mixes of the song released, Bruce Swedien decided to let the rhythm run and keep the backing vocals, which included harmonies that stretched over 10 tracks.

3. The short film was filmed in June 1987
Speed Demon

1. In his autobiography Moonwalk, Michael calls Speed Demon a “machine song.”

2. The French single of Speed Demon is the only version that doesn’t fade into the intro of Liberian Girl.

3. The video was filmed in March of 1988.
4. Liberian Girl

1. The first version was recorded in 1983, and was intended for Victory.

2. The working title for the song was Pyramid Girl.

5. Just Good Friends

8. I Just Can’t Stop Loving You

1. In later pressings of the album, the spoken intro is removed.

2. For the intro, Bruce had Michael whisper into the ear of a mannequin, whose head was covered in microphones.

9. Dirty Diana

1. Steve Stevens performed a guitar solo on the track.

2. The full version that Steve played on was seven minutes long.

3. The short film was shot in Long Beach, California.
10. Smooth Criminal

1. When you hear the line “OK, I want everybody to clear the area right now!,” that is Bruce Swedien.

2. Recording took place from November 1986 to April 1987.

3. The short film was shot from mid-February 1987 to mid-April 1987.
11. Leave Me Alone

1. Bruce Swedien had produced five remixes for the song, but Epic decided to not market them. They are all available online.
