christmas, a globally celebrated holiday enjoyed by MILLIONS OF MILLIONS of people, is forever changed by mariah, her song is ubiquitous with the time... none of the others can say that

that would be impressive enough if it was her one off achievement, but the billboard #1s!!!! the way she redefined the remix album!!! the 100s of vocal copycats she inspired!!! her mindblowing comeback after a hard time away!!! she is a SINGER/WRITER/PRODUCER!!!!!

all that talent and also the fortitude to live the life she has and emerge with humour and warmth for the world still... i think the others have all made incredible contributions but they’re just not as awe-inspiring as mariah’s
