one thing i wanna point out about thompson...

the sportscenter update on the radio said thompson opened the door for black coaches in college baksetball. there's something to that.

but uhhh...what the hell's happened to that door? how open is it?

since nolan richardson, has any black coach had a profile that approached thompson's? hell, has there been one with nolan's profile?

perhaps the most amazing thing about thompson isn't just that he was successful at georgetown. he became the patriarch of the program. the king. arkansas put nolan on his ass and he never got another job. thompson basically hired every georgetown coach who came after him.

now, while you consider this, think about the hbo doc "the scheme" and who got caught holding the bags. if thompson opened the door for black coaches, we need to talk about who closed it
